Cockatoo Island: 4 things to do, 5 things to know

“Over the years, Cockatoo Island was home to the sulphur-crested cockatoo’s and with their social, gregarious nature and attraction for the rich native flora of the island, I guess that’s how its name came to be and it’s exactly what makes people flock to the Island today. When we arrived on a weekday it was to school kids, tourists and locals alike, all keen to understand a little of the pioneering spirit of our past.”
A huge thanks to Australian Traveller for publishing our story and photographs on Cockatoo Island. Great team to work with, thank you!
